What Will Your Wedding Theme Be?
You have decided to have a destination event – and that’s a brilliant decision.
The next step is to choose the theme for the event. You can let your imagination run riot – and choose peacocks, rainbows, angels, the colour yellow, or ice-cream… or even Christmas. You can select one of the conventional themes – country, romantic, traditional, vintage, bohemian, classic, rustic, nautical…
When planning your event it is important to take into consideration that you may need to spend a lot of money on props for your chosen theme. You may also have to source supplies from different places, in order to make it a successful event.
It goes without saying that the wedding is an extension of your preferred style and wishes. MALTA EVENT DESIGN is here to help you select your theme. We will make sure that it is a perfect match with your personality. We will choose the right location for the occasion.
Ask yourself a couple of questions in order to get the ball rolling:
- Do you envisage exchanging your vows in a church or in and open place (garden, beach, hotel courtyard)?
- The answer to the first question might narrow down the possibilities of the second: which month have you hosen for your wedding?
The weather has a bearing on the date of the wedding. In the months of May and June, weddings are usually held outdoors; the local temperature is perfect for your guests to enjoy the celebration and the scenery. On the other hand, weddings held during months when it is likely to rain are normally held indoors, with the option of moving to an open area, weather permitting.
Think about the mood you would like to set. What ambience would you like; relaxed, traditional, glamorous…or romantic?
Relaxed
Choose a venue that offers lots of indoor space, with a simple decor that you can design yourself. This would be perfectly highlighted in a colour scheme of light blue, white and beige. Fairy lights would lighten the mood.
If your wedding is going to be held outdoors, a venue with a garden would fit the bill perfectly. In this setting a combination of green, blue and brown would fit. Keep the lightning simple. Fire pits would create a laid-back atmosphere.
Traditional
A traditional wedding is more church-based, with the reception being held in a historical building. The Maltese Islands are jam-packed with different venues oozing Maltese history, allowing you to indulge in Maltese culture. If you would like to know more about the venues we offer, get in touch!
As for colour palette, we would recommend yellow, gold, white, brown, red and silver. Normally, a traditional wedding does not include any special lighting; however, flowers and centrepieces can further enhance the complete picture of your wedding.
Glamorous
If you and your partner would like an extravagant or glamorous wedding, MALTA EVENT DESIGN is delighted to help you create your dream. If you have an indoor wedding, we would recommend a modern venue that you can decorate according to your wishes. Large light fittings, flowers, crystals, and breath-taking centrepieces in the colours pink, purple, gold, silver and red would be the perfect embellishments.
An outdoor wedding can be held anywhere; in the city, on the beach or a hotel terrace; we can help you decorate and style it to your wishes.
Romantic
If you would prefer to have a romantic atmosphere, with a gorgeous backdrop and setting, MALTA EVENT DESIGN can help tailor-make your venue and style it with a marvellously magical look. Fairy lights and scented flowers are the first steps to creating a romantic touch to your wedding. The perfect colour palette for an enchanted wedding includes light pink, peach, orange, lilac, fuchsia, and light blue. When choosing a venue for a romantic setting, a garden is recommended as the perfect location, because of the nature’s palette.
