A destination event is a wonderful idea that gives pizzazz to a king holiday.
And then, of course, you have to select the most suitable venue for the experience itself.
Who better to give advice than a local event planner?
We are here to help you find the right venue, with the right ambience and auxiliaries. The main advantage in commissioning us as your local event planner, without any doubt, is that we have the experience of what works and what does not. We can combine your priorities with the perfect venue, saving you time, legwork, paperwork, and the endless telephone calls you would otherwise have had to make.
Budget
Consider your budget. MALTA EVENT DESIGN gives you value for money since we liaise directly with the best service providers without middlemen. The budget is a very important factor when selecting a destination venue. Whether you have megabucks to spend, or whether the purse-strings are tight, it is prudent to set down priorities, to get the best deals… and leave the rest to us.
Guests
Who will be attending the event? Will they be paying their own way, or will the aeroplane fare be a gift from you or the company you represent? Some venues set a limit to the number of guests that may be accommodated for an event. Others will not accept booking for small parties if the hall or gallery intended for these functions is considered too large.
MALTA EVENT DESIGN has worked with most local major establishments. We are well aware of this, and we will guide you accordingly.
Weather
The weather in Malta is fairly reliable. However, that is not to say that we have 365 sunny days each year. If you choose an outdoor venue for an event that happens to be on one of the few stormy days, all the preparations would have been for nothing. Imagine if the set-up cannot be moved indoors at a moment’s notice.
If at all possible, avoid having an outdoor event scheduled for autumn or winter, just to be on the safe side. You may, of course, have an indoor event with the use of an outside terrace or gardens, in many places.
August is the hottest month in Malta; it is strongly suggested that all events are held indoors, in a controlled climate. You don’t want to mark the occasion by having guests dressed up to the nines, sweltering in the heat. MALTA EVENT DESIGN knows what venues work for each month.
Venue Extra’s
It is important to know what is included in the deal, in order to avoid disappointments. For instance – just because there is a pool it does not mean that your guests may use it. Just because you want to party on till 3.00am, it does not mean you may do so – at least, not unless you have a special permit.
If you want to have a bar serving alcoholic beverages, or a specific type of food, your options may be further restricted. Some venues preclude any other catering than theirs.
Note Well:
- Plan the event at least 6 months ahead;
- Visit the venue a few days before, round about the time your vent will take place;
- Read independent reviews of the venue;
- Consider the transport guests will need to get to the venue;
- Are there enough parking spaces for guests who use private transport?;
- Do you need any facilities such as wheelchair access; toilets for people with disabilities, etc.?
MALTA EVENT DESIGN is here to help you select the right destination venue for your event – and the bonus is a stress-free planning period.
