Verdala Palace
While looking at the sky, admire the size of Verdala Palace from the forest. It is known to be the President’s summer residence since 1987. The palace sometimes opens to the public on special occasions to offer those with curious minds to see the beautiful ground and halls of the castle. Built in 1586, under the reign of Hugues Loubenx de Verdalle, this palace is one of the best treasures of Malta. During the 19th century, this Palace used to be a prison for French soldiers captured by Maltese and British. Designed by Girolamo Cassar, this wonderful construction has a rectangular base with pentagonal turrets on each corner.
